Laying your boat up for winter – the confusion and the truth.

Gerry Yeatman, of Liquid Engineering has provided the following statement in an effort to clear up confusion created by a misleading, untrue sales /marketing email from Premier Marinas.

A recent email from Premier Marinas has caused unnecessary confusion and concern for many loyal Fuel Set™ customers. The email stated that because Premier’s fuel (from marinas across the south of England) is pre-treated with Soltron™, no other additive should be used (and they list virtually every product on the market).

This is NOT the case…Fuel Set works in an entirely different way from Soltron™, and using both will not interfere with the workings of either.

Fuel Set™ has been a favourite fuel conditioner in the marine industry for over 21 years, and continues to provide the benefits of treating the diesel bug, removing water from condensation when laying up over winter, reducing harmful emissions and improving economy, amongst others.

Unlike Soltron™ ( according to the email from Premier Fuels), Fuel Set™ can be used in combination with any other additive to provide the perfect solution for your particular circumstance or problem. Loyal customers can rest assured that adding Fuel Set™ to ANY fuel purchased anywhere, can only add to your peace of mind, given the additional benefits of Fuel Set™, not least the effective removal of water from condensation when over-wintering.

Rather than use an additive and a source of fuel that are clearly not compatible with any other product, customers are advised to keep their options open, and use an additive of their choice and a fuel from any convenient source.
